MOLLY IN ROCK GARDENMOLLY IN FLOWERS

Miss Molly Marie owns my heart. She came to me and filled my life in a way it has never been filled before. She gives me everything a person could possibly want. Molly has a sparkling personality and a loving disposition but retains that feistiness that all Westie people love.
At 5 years of age (11/2002), she weighs in at 16.4# and is just over 10" tall. She's come a long way from the 11 week old puppy weighing 3.6#! It is sometimes hard to remember that she is not human. She understands almost anything I say to her. I am sure she could speak in full sentences if she had the correct vocal cords.
She was bred by a lady who breeds for show. But Molly came to me as a "pet quality" puppy. By going to a 'responsible breeder', I had the advantage of knowing that various medical tests were done on the parents and that the breeder had reviewed their genetic history by going back at least 3 generations on each side of each dog. This doesn't guarantee that there will be no illness or disease but it certainly does reduce the possibilities. And because this breeder is trying to produce show dogs, even those who are pet quality are likely to be well conformed. Miss Molly was not kept for show because her bones are a bit light. But she really doesn't have any serious faults and she has a beautiful face. More importantly, her personality just sparkles. When I went to get Molly, I met her mom who laid on the back of the couch right behind me. I was able to watch her and the other house dogs interact. When people tell me they don't want to go to a show breeder because they "just want a pet", I try to explain to them that show breeders produce far more pets than show dogs and that these pets have had much care taken so that they will be healthy and well-tempered. Molly is a fine example of this.
