SARAH'S STORY

Sarah's poem

Sarah was found wandering around Meijer's parking lot. She was at the Humane Society for a week but no one came looking for their lost dog. We assume she was dumped because she is old and not in perfect health. Her time was up and the Humane Society deemed her "unadoptable". They would have put her down so we took her to see if we help her find a new home to live out her "Retirement" years.
Sarah came to us Thursday morning and by afternoon she had had a physical and underwent a dental procedure. That night she started on antibiotics and eye drops. And on Friday she went to the groomers to pretty her up for our Rescue Parade. Sarah's blood work looks pretty good for a lady who is perhaps 10-12 years old. She has a funny little gait and head tilt but her ears look good and she seems to see. She runs in the yard with the other dogs and tries hard to be one of the pack. She hears and responds to clapping and is starting to recognize her name.
We hope someone will recognize the need to rescue these "gentlemen" and "gentleladies" as well as puppies and younger dogs and come love Sarah so she can have a special place for her remaining years on earth. Having read her story, please go back and read her "poem" under her picture above.

WONDERFUL NEWS!! Sarah has a new home. She was adopted by a retired couple and lives with two other little Westie girls. Sarah's sisters, Jackee and Annie, are happy to share their home with Sarah. Jackee was adopted from us last year and also has medical issues. Sarah has settled into her new home and understands that she is there to stay as long as God allows her to be with us. The world is full of "angels" and Sarah has found hers!

Our little Sarah is an angel now. She passed peacefully on July 30, 2005 while being held and rocked by her family. Sarah had a happy ending to her life and is now looking down on her adoptive family and waiting for them to someday join her at the bridge. Sarah was adopted in the Summer of 2003.
