Cavalier King Charles Spaniels
Est. 1997
History
Not knowing much about the breed, I started my research in 1995 by going to dog shows, talking to breeders and doing a lot of reading. While going through all the Cavalier books I could find, I began to notice that many the Cavaliers I really liked had a common ancestor - Salador Celtic Dirk (Danny). Two years later, I was very fortunate to obtain my first Cavalier - Can Ch. Mostyn Maggie May (Maggie), from Danny's owner Mrs. I. Brigida Reynolds of Canada. Not only is Maggie a Granddaughter, a Great Granddaughter and Great Great Granddaughter of Danny's, she was a tricolor!
With just three points shy of obtaining her Canadian Championship, Maggie took time off from the show ring to become a Mom. Her first litter was with AKC & CKC Ch., U-CD Stillmeadow Dream to Behold FDCH, NA, S-CD, Am-CD, CGC. The result of that litter born on March 19,1998 was Claymoore Adds to the Dream CGC (Addy). Addy in turn presented me with a very nice litter of three tricolors on 10/10/01. They are by AKC Ch. Pascavale Rupert and I have kept the only girl - who I have named Claymoore Adds Some Sass (Sassy).
Maggie's second litter was with AKC Ch. Stonecroft Snapdragon was born on March 9th, 1999. AKC & CKC Ch Claymoore's Whirlabout (Anna) is one of four lovely girls from this litter. Anna, my little nut, finished her AKC Championship on 08/04/02 & her CKC Championship on 01/19/2003.
Maggie went on to finish her Canadian Championship on November 16, 2001.
On December of 1999, I was delighted in obtaining another beautiful tricolor - AKC & CKC Ch Millhill Surtout (Millie) from the Millhill Kennel in England. Mrs. E.E.C. Mordecai is the breeder of this wonderful girl. Millie finished her AKC Championship with a four point major on September 29, 2001. She finish her Canadian Championship after taking some time off for motherhood on June 18th, 2003. On7/3/2003 Millie presented me with a litter of two lovely tricolor puppies,by Roycroft Everything Goes. The girl Claymoore's Moving On Up (Jill) will be staying at Claymoore.
Then on July 10th, 2003, the latest addition at Claymoore arrived - Banner's Tango at Claymoore (Tara) from is my good friend Linda Ziehm - Banner Cavaliers. Tara's Mom is AKC Ch. Millhill's Silk Banner, a kennel mate to my Millie. With her beautiful pedigree, she should be a wonderful asset to my breeding program.
